Advanced Research Training Seminars (ARTS 2014)

What is ARTS?

The Advanced Research Training Seminars, ARTS, are capacity-building workshops that take place every two years in conjunction with major international congresses of psychology. ARTS promote excellence in research skills and facilitates exchange and dialogue amongst early career scientists.
ARTS are organised jointly by the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP) and the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS) and with support from other sponsors.

Who is ARTS for?

ARTS are intended for:

  • Psychologists from low income countries, countries in transition or where psychology is not well developed
  • Psychologists near the start of their careers developing research or scholarship that will benefit from their attendance at an ARTS seminar
  • Psychologists who are or will be in a position to bring influence on the development of research or scholarship within their home countries

The ARTS 2014 Programme

ARTS 2014 will provide a choice of three seminars; each participant can attend only one seminar. Further information will follow.

In addition, participants will be supported to attend ICAP 2014 (International Congress of Applied Psychology).

Applicants will be strongly encouraged to submit an abstract to ICAP 2014, although this is not a requirement for acceptance on the ARTS Programme.
